The Doctor of Horsepower, Lonnie Gritton, was born with racing in his blood. Racing everything from boats to cars, Lonnie has been racing as long as he can remember. Born in Iowa, he grew up drag racing cars and working on drag racing motors, where he discovered the actual building of the motors. He began building his own motors in high school and started his own motor building company in 2000, LG Racing Engines. Lonnie started Muscle Marine in the Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri in 2012, because he was always looking for the strongest, fastest, most muscle in competitive offshore boat racing engines, and nothing seemed to have the strength in horsepower that he wanted.
Lonnie has been a part of the Penthouse Racing Team, the We On Top OffShore Powerboat Racing Team, the Cigar Monster OffShore Powerboat Racing Team and the Synergy OffShore Powerboat Racing Team. Lonnie has also worked with and for Nick Aries selling him crankshafts and assisting him while building the Hemi Chevy short blocks that he produced.
Lonnie specializes in the 454 and 502 due to their customization options, but also offers a variety of racing motor options. He can adapt the motor to fit your boat's needs and it's captain's ambitions.
